Master’s Project:
Students may elect to write a Master’s Project. The Master’s Project is an extended piece of writing in which
substantial research on a topic in literature or writing is applied to a problem or responsibility encountered in the
work of the practicing teacher. Students who choose the Master’s Project Option must complete 27 hours of
coursework (or a combination of coursework and workshops, and 6 hours of Research devoted to the project.
Note: At least 18 hours of graduate coursework (or a combination of coursework and workshops, not including
the Master’s Project) in English must be taken at Kent State University.
