Effective Mon., July 27, you will begin to see changes in the way Contrast agents used in
Radiology are ordered and how administration of these agents is documented. IV contrast will
be documented in StarPanel via a StarForm (order and administration will both be documented
there by Radiologists). Oral contrast will be ordered in HEO/Wiz and administration of Oral
contrast will be documented in AdminRx on units where that application is used. (On units that
do not use AdminRx, Oral Contrast Med. Orders will be transcribed onto paper MAR and
administration of these oral agents will be documented on the paper MAR.)
Some units see larger numbers of patients who have diagnostic procedures requiring oral
contrast than others. This practice change should not impact the number of these patients you
see – only how the oral contrast is ordered and how & where administration of contrast is
documented. There are 4 slides that describe these changes.
