2016/2017 ­ Unpaid internships in Santiago de Compostela, Spain Asociación Erasmus Compostela ­ ESN Santiago Summary The Asociación Erasmus Compostela is a non­profit organisation with legal status, duly registered with the Xunta de Galicia and as a Student Association at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC). Known individually as ESN Santiago, the organisation is part of the national federation of associations that make up Erasmus Student Network (ESN). With a presence in 360 universities across 38 different countries, ESN is one of the biggest student organisations in Europe and is constantly evolving and growing. Annually, it offers its services to more than 150,000 national and international exchange students with the aim of supporting them and helping them to ensure that their academic year is an unforgettable experience. ESN Santiago provides support to international students by making their arrival in the city as easy as possible and by organising leisure, cultural, and sport activities throughout the academic year. This is made possible by the effort and work of our team members and volunteers. Objective The aim of this advertisement is to offer students at UK universities unpaid internship placements at ESN Santiago. Length of internships:​
a minimum of 3 months, to be undertaken between February 2016 and June 2017. During the internship, students will work in the following areas: 1. Offering assistance and advice to international students 2. Assisting in the planning and carrying out of the organisation’s leisure and cultural activities 3. Assisting in the planning and carrying out of the organisation’s trips and visits 4. Offering support to students looking for accommodation 5. Design and layout of promotional material 6. Production of audiovisual material during activities (photo/video) 7. Public relations and attracting new exchange students 8. Organising opportunities for students to take part in team and individual sports 9. Fundraising 10. Working as part of the communication department: dealing with media relations, press releases, articles, and city guides 11. ICT Academic recognition For exchange students (bilateral agreements, Erasmus…): ­ They will be able to obtain a certificate of participation (recognised throughout Europe) ­
○ For Erasmus students, the certificate can carry academic weight (to be confirmed with the home university) ○ For bilateral agreement exchange students, especially those from South America and USA, it can count towards hours of voluntary work required by their universities Certificate of participation from ESN Santiago List of available positions Community Manager Assistant (Ref: CMA) ­ Will work with the Community Manager on the progress of ESN’s social networking communication plan Events Manager Assistant (Ref: EMA) ­ Will work with the Events Manager to collect information about, organise, and design publicity for cultural, sport, and leisure events Fundraising Manager Assistant (Ref: FMA) ­ Will work with the Fundraising Manager to strategise and plan how to generate funds from various organisations in order to cover the costs of events External Relations Manager Assistant (Ref: ERM) ­ Will work with the External Relations Manager to develop relationships with businesses and organisations in order to form collaboration agreements Photograph Manager Assistant (Ref: PMA) ­ Will work with the Photograph Manager to produce, classify, and archive event photos Audio­Video Manager Assistant (Ref: AVMA) ­ Will work with the Manager to produce, classify, and archive audiovisual material during events Graphic Design Manager Assistant (Ref: GDMA) ­ Will work with the Manager to design elements necessary for information communication regarding both internal and external matters Computer Engineer Assistant (Ref: CEA) ­ Will work with the Manager to develop computer and mobile applications, mainly for Android Desirable qualities: ­ Experience in similar work or activities ­ Prior experience of undertaking an Erasmus+ (or other mobility programme) work placement ­ Language proficiency: intermediate Spanish (level B1) ­ Responsible, outgoing and sociable individual ­
