Approximately 50 former RCNJ soccer players traveled to campus recently to attend “40 Years of Soccer”, an event designed to commemorate the ’71 men’s soccer team and build relationships between current athletes, alumni, and the Athletics administration.
With friends and family joining in the festivities, close to 150 people participated in the event. Richard Turi ’74, the Athletics
Department, and the Alumni Association coordinated this special event.
The RCNJ Men's Soccer team record is currently 7-7-2. The RCNJ
Women's Soccer Team record is currently 3-11-12. Both teams will compete against Montclair State University today for the last game of the season.

Ramapo College welcomed Charles “Chuck” Gordon as its new
Director of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation. Gordon is the
College's sixth athletic director.
Gordon has over 35 years of experience in College athletics, most recently serving as the Director of Athletics and Assistant Dean of
Students at The American University in Cairo, Egypt. During his tenure at American he directed the department’s move into a new
250,000-square-foot indoor sports facility, plus a 35-acre outdoor facility, as part of the AUC campus relocation.

Charles "Chuck" Gordon
Amanda Swanson ‘11 currently attends the Ph.D. program in
Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of
Connecticut. Swanson earned her BA in Psychology and her BS in
Biology. She also completed a minor in Spanish during her four years at Ramapo.
While at Ramapo, Swanson worked as a research assistant in
Professor Christian Reich’s NIH supported neuropsychology lab and collaborated with Professor Barbara Warner on a senior thesis centered on the relationship between Facebook activities and personality attributes.

President Mercer and the Department of Human Resources recently hosted the 2011 Service Awards Reception at the
Havemeyer House.
This year the college bid farewell to 13 retirees. Colleagues and supervisors were on hand to comment on the retirees’ contributions and achievements.
In addition, 9 employees celebrated their 40 year anniversary.
109 others were acknowledged for their 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th,
25th, or 35th anniversaries.

RCNJ.
The Web Marketing Association recently awarded its 2011 “Best of
Industry” Outstanding Achievement in Web Development Award to
Ramapo College for its redesigned Academics Web site at www.ramapo.edu/academics .
Other winners in the category included Boston University
Interactive Design/College of Communications, Sacred Heart
University, and the University of Hong Kong.

Per the State Office of Employee Relations, all sabbatical leave has been suspended. The sabbatical leave article of the past statewide contract had a sunset provision and it expired at the end of the term of the contract.
The state colleges have been advised by the Deputy Director of the Governor's Office on Employee Relations that they may not implement sabbatical leave elements until a new contract is in place.
