How do I print?
Free credit!
You receive £12 free printing credit (equivalent to 240 sheets for mono, 48 for colour) at the
beginning of each academic year - pro rata for students who do not register at the beginning
of the academic year.
When this runs out you can purchase more credit with cash or by card www.ucl.ac.uk/isd/students/workrooms/printing/topup
Printing from a computer in the workroom
Select one of the following queues:
 ClusterMonoA4Duplex (double-sided default queue)
 ClusterMonoA4 (single sided)
 ClusterColourA4 (colour print queue)
Your print job will then be stored and will not be printed out on paper until you release it
using the Print Release Station in one of the Computer Workrooms (See Map overleaf for
locations).
Printing from your laptop
Login remotely to a computer service called Cluster WTS:
www.ucl.ac.uk/isd/students/windows/wts/access, open your file(s) and select one of the print
queues as described above.
Note: If your file is located on a USB key, you will need to plug your USB key in to your
laptop BEFORE connecting to Cluster WTS.
Releasing your job from a Print Release Station
You can release your job from any Print Release Station in any computer workroom. Unreleased print jobs will be automatically cleared from the queue after 24 hours.

Log in to a Print Release Station using your ISD userid and password. You will
then see your jobs listed and the amount of credit in your Printing Credit Account.

Click on the job(s) you want to print (hold the [SHIFT] key down and click with the
mouse to select more than one), the number of pages and the amount of credit that
is needed to print the selected job(s) will be calculated and displayed at the bottom of
the screen.

To release the selected job(s) to the printer click the Print button.
Once you have released your print job(s) the appropriate cost will be deducted from
your Printing Credit Account.

Your job will print on the printer next to the Print Release Station.

Any unwanted jobs can be deleted from the print queue by clicking on them and then
clicking the Delete button. Jobs left on the central print queue will be automatically
deleted from the queue after 24 hours.
Note: You must have sufficient printing credit in your account before you are able to release
your print job, i.e. if you are trying to print a 10 page document and you only have enough
credit to print 8 pages (40p), your print job cannot be released until you top up your credit.
