BIOGRAPHY Dr. Richard Norris is a full Professor of Paleobiology at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, at the University of California San Diego, where he has worked for over a decade. He is also Curator of the Scripps Geological Collections and leads interdisciplinary graduate programs affiliated with the Scripps Institution of Oceanography Center for Marine Biodiversity and Conservation, including the Master's of Advanced Studies in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation and a Ph.D. interdisciplinary training program, PIER. Richard holds an undergraduate degree from the University of California Santa Cruz, an M.S. form the University of Arizona, and a Ph.D. from Harvard University. He worked extensively as a research scientist at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts before joining the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in 2002. Richard has appeared on numerous news and television shows, such as ABC, BBC, NBC, Today Show, and PBS News Hour, and has authored over 120 articles and ten books.
