Bilingual English and Spanish-speaking Interviewer Center for Training, Evaluation, and Community Collaboration (C-TECC) Psychological and Brain Sciences University of Delaware This position will assist with data collection on two projects: Community Outreach, Referral and Early Intervention (CORE) and Linking Actions for Unmet Needs in Children’s Health (LAUNCH). These project are multi-year, multi-million dollar grants from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Agency (SAMHSA) to the State of Delaware’s Divisions of Prevention and Behavioral Health Services (DPBHS) and Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH). The State has contracted with the University of Delaware to conduct the evaluation research as part of these grants. CORE is focused on educating the community about psychosis, helping to identify youth (ages 12-26) who are at risk for psychosis, and providing services to those in need. The primary aim of LAUNCH is to educate an underserved community about available services for children ages 0-8, and to connect these services in a manner that is effective and efficient to meet families’ needs. Together, evaluation activities focus on supporting and researching community outreach and the effectiveness of these interventions. Responsibilities: Under general supervision, the Spanish-speaking interviewer will attend outreach events for both projects, conduct surveys in the community and provide psychoeducation about the project. Both projects also will require in person interviews with participants (CORE: with 12-26-year olds and family; LAUNCH: with parent/guardian of 0-8 year old receiving services). The interviewer will get training in specific protocol, conducting quantitative and qualitative interviews, and working with a clinical population. Interviewer will be responsible for contacting and scheduling participant interviews, conducting interviews in English and Spanish, collecting and submitting interview data, protecting participants privacy (maintaining confidentiality), and working collaboratively with the lead evaluator, collaborating providers, and other evaluation team members. Qualifications: – Bilingual (English and Spanish). – Great interpersonal skills and ability to express one’s self verbally and in writing both in English and Spanish. – Problem solving skills. – Previous interviewing experience preferred. – Willing to work flexible hours. – Knowledge of research and data collection techniques preferred. – Ability to make evaluation judgments and impart information to a range of clientele. – Ability to work independently from oral and/or written instructions. – Ability to work well in a collaborative environment with lead evaluator, other evaluation team members, community providers, and diverse families from all ages and backgrounds. – Age 21 or older, required by State to work with clients.
