A. 14th Edition (global edition) Prentice Hall Course Description: This course shows the importance of the human behavior within business organizations at the individual, group, and organizational levels. It helps students understand some key principles about how people behave in organizations in order to prepare them to become effective co-workers, team members, and organization citizens. Course Objective: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Emphasize the role of human factors in organizational success. Provide a general overview of the field of Organizational Behavior. Discuss basic theories and concepts that explain Organizational Behavior at the individual, group, and organization level. Explain the processes and methods that can improve the behavior and attitudes of organizational members and, thus, their performance. Give real examples of human behavior in organizational settings. Course Outcomes: By the end of this course, students should be able to: 1. Comprehend basic behavioral theories and their applications in business organizations. 2. Understand factors that affect individual and group behavior within business organizations. 3. Develop reasonable solutions to organizational behavior problems. 4. Enhance their skills and behavior as organizational members and managers. 5. Effectively manage their relationships with co-workers, managers, subordinates, and customers. Academic Honesty: All students are expected to follow the university guidelines for academic honesty. I think that any student who conducts an unethical practice in college will do so in the business world if given a degree from this institute. Therefore, I will recommend a harsh penalty for any student who violates the college guidelines for academic honesty. Performance Evaluation: Student performance is evaluated as follows: Exam ( I ) ------------------------ 15 Exam ( II ) ----------------------- 15 Class Activities----------------- 30 Final Exam ---------------------- 40 Attendance: Students are expected to attend every class. Any student who absent more than 7 classes will be denied from completing the course (i.e., DN). Participation and Class Activities: I highly appreciate student participation in class discussion. Your participation will enhance your understanding of the subject and overall performance. Class activities (e.g., assignments, home works, discussions, group work, project) will be further clarified. These activities worth 30 points of your total grade. Exams: Exams count for 70 points of your total grade. These exams contain a mixture of true/false, multiple choice, fill the gap, and short essay questions. Exam questions reflect material presented in the textbook, outside readings, class lectures, discussions, and videotapes. Final exam will be comprehensive (i.e., it will cover the whole material given to students during the semester). All exams will be unified and given to students (male and female) in the same exact time.
